Dotty couldn't sleep.
Dotty怎么也睡不着。
It was her first night in her new home.
这是她在新家的第一晚。
She tried sleeping upside down.
她试着倒着睡觉。
She tried snuggling up to Penguin.
她试着抱着企鹅。
She even tried lying on the floor.

But still Dotty couldn't sleep.
但Dotty还是睡不着觉。
Dotty's howling woke up Pip the mouse.
Dotty的嚎叫惊醒了老鼠Pip
"Can't you sleep , Dotty?" he asked.
“你睡不着吗，Dotty？”他问道。
"Perhaps you should try counting the stars like I do."
“也许你应该像我一样数数星星。”
But Dotty could only count up to one.
但Dotty只会数到一
That wasn't enough to send her to sleep.
那还不足以让她睡着
What could she do next?
她下一步该怎么办？

Susie the bird was awake now.
小鸟Susie现在醒了
"Can't you sleep , Dotty?" She twittered.
”你睡不着吗，Dotty？”她叽叽喳喳地说。
"I always have a little drink before I go to bed."
“我睡觉前总是喝点水。”
Dotty went to her bowl and took a drink.
Dotty走到她的碗边喝了一杯水。
But then she made a little puddle.
但是她后来尿床了
Well that didn't help!
好吧，这也没用！
What could Dotty do to get to sleep?

Whiskers the rabbit had woken up, too.
兔子Whiskers也醒了。
"Can't you sleep, Dotty?" he mumbled sleeply.
“你睡不着吗，Dotty？”他昏昏欲睡地咕哝着。
"I hide away in my burrow at bedtime. That always works."
“睡觉时我躲在我的洞穴里，这很有效。”
Dotty dived under her blanket so that only her bottom was showing .
Dotty钻进毯子下面，只露出了她的屁股。
But it was all dark under there with no light at all.
但是那里一片漆黑，一点光也没有。
Dotty was too scared to go to sleep.
Dotty害怕得睡不着觉。

Tommy the tortoise poked his head from out of his shell.
乌龟Tommy从壳里探出头来。
"Can't you sleep, Dotty?" he sighed.
“你睡不着吗，Dotty？”他叹了口气。
"I like to sleep where it's bright and sunny."
“我喜欢睡在阳光明媚的地方。”
Dotty liked that idea. . . . . .
Dotty喜欢这个主意……
……and turned on her flashlight !
……并且打开了她的手电筒！
"Turn it off, Dotty!" shouted all her friends.
“关掉， Dotty！”她的朋友们都喊着。
"We can't get to sleep now!"
“我们现在睡不着了！”
Poor Dotty was too tried to try anything else.
可怜的Dotty太想尝试其他的方法了
Then Tommy had a great idea. . .
Tommy有个好主意
He helped Dotty into her bed.
他把Dotty扶上床
What Dotty needed for the first night in her new home was. . . . . .
Dotty在新家的第一晚需要的是……
……to snuggle up among all her new friends.
……依偎在她所有的新朋友中
Soon they were all fast asleep.
很快他们都睡着了
