When Winnie the Witch turned over the page on her calendar, she saw a big red circle around Friday the thirteenth.
当女巫温妮翻过一页日历，她看见本周星期五13号这天画着一个红色的大圆圈。

"That's my birthday!" she said.
“这天是我的生日！”温妮说。

"I'll have a party this year, Wilbur."
“威尔伯，我今年将要举办一个派对。”

"Purr," said Wilbur. He loved parties.
“喵呜”威尔伯叫道。他喜欢派对。

"What kind of party?" Winnie wondered.
“应该办一个什么样的派对呢？”温妮思考着

"I know, a garden party."
“我知道了，一个花园派对。”

On Monday Winnie wrote out the invitations and sent them by Winni-e-mail.
周一温妮写了邀请函并通过邮件发了出去。

She invited...Aunty Alice, Uncle Owen, her three sisters Wanda, Wilma and Wendy, all of her friends, and Cousin Cuthbert.
她邀请了爱丽丝姑妈，欧文叔叔，万达、威尔玛、温蒂三姐妹，和她的所有朋友，还有表弟卡斯波特。

On Tuesday she made herself a party dress, and a matching bow for Wilbur.
周二温妮为自己做了条礼服，给威尔伯准备了一个蝴蝶结。

"Purr," said Wilbur. I look lovely, he thought.
“喵呜”威尔伯叫道。我看起来可爱极了，他想。

On Wednesday Winnie made lots and lots of food. Wilbur helped.
周三温妮做了数不清的好吃的。威尔伯也帮忙了。

Thursday was the day to get the garden ready.
周四这天要准备花园了。

Winnie went outside. It looked rather scruffy.
温妮来到室外，花园看起来乱糟糟的。

Then Winnie had a very good idea.
这时温妮有了一个好主意。

She took out her wand, waved it, shouted, ABRACADABRA!
她拿出魔法棒，挥舞着喊道，ABRACADABRA!

And the garden was ready for the party.
这下就可以在花园里开派对了。

"That was easy," Winnie said.
“就是这么简单。”温妮说道。

"Now what else? Oh yes, I need a surprise. A good party always has a surprise. I'll have to think about that."
“现在还要准备什么呢？哦对，我需要一个惊喜。一个精彩的派对总会有惊喜。我需要好好想想这件事。”

Friday the thirteenth was a lovely sunny day, which was lucky.
星五也就是13号这天，天气阳光明媚，真是太幸运啊。

At two o'clock Winnie's guests arrived.
中午两点整，温妮的客人们到了。

"Happy birthday, Winnie," they shouted, and they piled up the presents on the lawn.
“生日快乐，温妮！”他们一边喊，一边把礼物堆在草地上。

Wanda, Wilma and Wendy gave Winnie a magic carpet.
万达、威尔玛和温蒂送给温妮一块魔毯。

She'd always wanted one of those.
这可是她梦寐以求的东西。

Uncle Owen gave her a bat in a cage. She'd never wanted one of those.
欧文叔叔送她一个只关在笼子里的蝙蝠。她从来不想这样的礼物。

Aunty Alice gave her a Book of Special Spells, and there was a magic trumpet from Cousin Cuthbert.
爱丽丝姑妈送了她一本咒语书，表弟卡斯波特送了一只魔法小号。

"Let's play some games!" Winnie said.
“我们来玩游戏吧！”温妮说道。

First they played musical broomsticks.
首先他们听音乐骑扫帚。

That was fun, but there was a lot of pushing.
这真是太有趣了，但是大家你推我搡。

Uncle Owen pushed Aunty Alice into a prickle bush. Ouch!
欧文叔叔把爱丽丝姑妈推进了带刺的灌木丛中，哎呦！

Cousin Cuthbert bounced off a broomstick and landed in the fountain. So they let him win.
表弟卡斯波特从一把扫帚上弹了下来，掉进了喷水池里。但大家还是算他赢了。

"Now we'll have a treasure hunt," said Winnie.
“接下来我们玩寻宝游戏吧！”温妮说。

Uncle Owen looked in the maze, and got lost.
欧文叔叔去迷宫里找，然后迷路了。

Wilma looked in the bat's cage, and the bat flew away.
威尔玛去蝙蝠笼子里找，结果蝙蝠飞走了。

Wendy looked in the bouncy castle. Band!
温蒂到充气城堡里找，嘣，城堡被扎破了。

Wanda found the treasure, but she had some help.
最后万达发现了宝物，但是，是在温妮的帮助下。

"The next game is hide-and-seek," Winnie shouted. But there was so much noise nobody heard her.
“下一个游戏是捉迷藏”温妮喊道。但是周围太吵了，没人听她说话。

So Winnie picked up her new magic trumpet.
所以温妮拿起她的新魔法小号。

Toot, toot, toot, Winnie tootled...
嘟，嘟，嘟...吹了起来。

and everybody disappeared. Winnie was surprised.
所有人一下子都消失了。温妮十分惊讶。

Then she was cross. Where had they gone?
她有点着急。他们都去哪了呢？

Winnie looked in the maze. Nobody.
温妮去迷宫里找，那没有人。

She looked in the bat's cage. Nothing.
她去蝙蝠笼子那找，什么也没有。

She looked in the bouncy castle. Nobody.
她去充气城堡那找，没有一个人。

"Blithering broomsticks!" Winnie said. " Who will eat all my lovely food?"
“真是糟糕透了。”温妮沮丧地说。“谁来吃我做的好吃的呢？”

Then Winnie saw a label on the trumpet.
温妮看到小号上有一个标签。

IMPORTANT: to make people disappear, toot three times.
重要提示：想让人们都消失，请把小号吹三下。

to make them come back, stand on your head and toot three times.
想让人们再回来，请倒立着吹三下。

So Winnie stood on her head. Toot, toot, toot, she tootled...
于是，温妮头朝下倒立起来。嘟，嘟，嘟...温妮吹了三下。

and everybody came back, feeling hungry. They ate up all the food.
客人们都回来了，而都饿了。他们很快就把食物吃完了。

"And now it's time for the surprise," said Winnie. She opened her new Book of Special Spells.
温妮宣布到“现在我要给大家一个惊喜！”她打开她崭新的咒语书。

"Shut your eyes and think about your favourite cake!" she said.
“大家闭上眼睛，然后想着自己最喜欢的蛋糕。”温妮说。

Everybody shut their eyes.
每个人都闭上眼睛。

Aunty Alice thought about chocolate cake.
爱丽丝姑妈想着巧克力蛋糕

Uncle Owen thought about fruit cake.
欧文叔叔想着水果蛋糕。

Cousin Cuthbert thought about rainbow cake.
表弟卡斯波特想着彩虹蛋糕。

Wilbur thought about cheesecake.
威尔伯想着芝士蛋糕。

He loved cheesecake.
他最喜欢芝士蛋糕了。

Then Winnie the Witch shut her eyes, turned around three times, stamped her foot, waved her wand, and shouted, ABRACADABRA!
温妮也闭上了眼，转了三圈，跺了跺脚，挥舞着魔法棒喊道ABRACADABRA!

And there was the biggest birthday cake in the whole world, with candles on the top.
世界上最大的蛋糕出现了，上面还点着蜡烛。

There was a layer of chocolate cake, a layer of fruit cake, a layer of rainbow cake, a layer of cheesecake.
一层巧克力蛋糕、一层水果蛋糕、一层彩虹蛋糕、一层奶酪蛋糕。

There was strawberry shortcake, ginger sponge cake, orange cake, Black Forest cake.
还有草莓酥饼、姜汁海绵蛋糕、香橙蛋糕、黑森林蛋糕。

"How will you blow out the candles?" asked Cousin Cuthbert.
“你怎么吹蜡烛呢？”卡斯波特表达问道。

"That's easy," Winnie said...
“这还不简单。”温妮回答道。

and she rode on her magic carpet to the top of the cake.
Puff, puff, puffffffff!
她骑上了魔毯飞到了蛋糕上面。噗！

"Ha ha ha," laughed Winnie.
“哈哈哈”温妮开怀大笑。

"This party is such fun, Wilbur! I'm a very lucky witch."
“这个派对真是太有趣了，威尔伯。我真是一个幸运的女巫啊！”

Wilbur didn't say anything.
威尔伯什么也没说。

His mouth was full of cheesecake. What a lucky black cat!
他嘴里塞满了芝士蛋糕。真是一只幸运的黑猫！
